Kaleidos Community Center

The Transformation

Kaleidos Community Center required a comprehensive material and furniture curation to create a cohesive branded gathering space from the ground up. We were tasked with transforming an empty community center into a vibrant, on-brand environment that would serve as the heart of their new housing community. Our approach systematically integrated the client's brand colors and identity throughout every key space, creating a unified visual experience that immediately communicates the community's values to residents and visitors.

The Challenge

The client faced a dual challenge: maintaining their brand identity across multiple rooms and zones while working within strict budget parameters. Additionally, the project required constant coordination with the architect as building plans changed throughout construction. We had to repeatedly adjust material locations and finishes as design ideas evolved, while simultaneously sourcing materials that reflected the brand aesthetic without exceeding budget constraints. Timing and delivery coordination added another layer of complexity as construction progressed at different rates than material availability.

Our Solution

We implemented a strategic approach that prioritized brand expression through careful material curation and color implementation. Rather than attempting expensive, hard-to-source materials, we identified strategic focal points—bathrooms, entry bar, kitchen, and community spaces—where brand colors could have maximum visual impact. We created a flexible specification system that could accommodate architectural changes without compromising the overall design vision. By working closely with vendors and the construction team, we aligned material delivery timelines with building phases, ensuring smooth installation and minimizing costly delays. Our focus on the tile accents, paint treatments, and color-coded finishes allowed us to maximize brand presence throughout the space while staying within budget.

The Results

The refreshed community center now showcases a cohesive, on-brand environment where nearly every colored element represents our specification work. The floor-to-ceiling tile and paint treatments in the bathrooms create an immersive branded experience. The entry bar and kitchen tile accents serve as focal points that anchor the space and draw attention to the design details. The community gathering area feels unified and intentional, with consistent color implementation across all functional zones. Residents and visitors immediately sense that this space is distinctive and carefully designed. The project demonstrates how strategic material selection and thoughtful color implementation can create maximum visual impact while maintaining budget discipline.

Client Testimonial

"Kaleidos is such an amazing place since Robin and her team contributed to the interior design! The main gathering space is open, flexible, and thoughtfully designed, and it has already become a natural hub for meetings and resident connection. The team at Pasley Commercial Interiors has also been very responsive to feedback: after my comments, they began making actual changes in some of their discovery processes. I appreciate their willingness to listen, adjust, and keep improving how the space serves both staff and residents." - Clayton Dorney,
